This design is based on the C-47 “Betsy’s Biscuit Bomber” Serial 43-48608 operated by the non-profit Gooney Bird Group Inc. C-47 43-48608 rolled off the production line in April 1944 and flew for the 9th Air Force, 302nd Air Transport Wing, 27th Air Transport Group during World War II. In 2009, the aircraft was returned to flight after a 2-year restoration and is maintained by a team of dedicated volunteers. The aircraft is currently located at the Estrella Warbird Museum.
