P-51 “Cripes A’ Mighty 3rd” Low Top Canvas Shoes
This design is based on the P-51 Mustang (HO-P, serial number 44-13321) nicknamed “Cripes A’ Mighty 3rd” flown by Major George E “Ratsy” Preddy Jr. of the 487th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group. Preddy was the top-scoring P-51 Mustang ace of WWII with over 26 victories and 8th among the all-time highest-scoring American aces. Sadly, at age 25, he was killed on the morning of December 25, 1944, by friendly fire. His military decorations include the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star x 2, Distinguished Flying Cross x 7, Purple Heart and 7x Air Medals.
