P-51 “Ferocious Frankie” Low Top Canvas Shoes
This design is based on the P-51 Mustang “B7-H” (serial number 44-13704) nicknamed “Ferocious Frankie” flown by Lt Col Wallace Hopkins of the 374th Fighter Squadron, 361st Fighter Group. Hopkins was P-51 Mustang ace with 5 air to air victories. Hopkins would go on to serve in the Korean War where he flew another 76 missions flying F-80’s. His military decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross x 2, Air Medals x 2 and the French Croix de Guerre.
