Spitfire “RF-D” Low Top Canvas Shoes
This design is based on the Spitfire (RF-D, serial number EP594) flown by Jan Eugeniusz Ludwig Zumbach whilst with the No. 303 Polish Fighter Squadron. Jan was a Polish-Swiss fighter pilot who became an ace and squadron commander during the Second World War achieving 12 confirmed kills, 2, shared, five probables and one damaged. During his service he was awarded Poland’s highest military decoration for heroism and courage – the Virtuti Militari, the Cross of Valour (Poland) four times and the Distinguished Flying Cross (UK) & Bar.
