VFA-151 “Vigilantes” High Top Canvas Shoes
This design was inspired by VFA-151 “Vigilantes” and features the iconic yellow tail stripes on the outside of each shoe, and “Old Ugly” sitting prominently on the inside of each shoe. VFA-151, known as the “Vigilantes,” is a U.S. Navy strike fighter squadron with a history dating back to 1948. The squadron originally flew the F6F Hellcat during World War II. Over the years, the “Vigilantes” have transitioned through several aircraft, including the F4U Corsair, F9F Panther, F32H Banshee, F-4 Phantom II and F/A-18 Hornet. Today, they operate the F/A-18E Super Hornet, a versatile multirole fighter. Based at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, VFA-151 has participated in numerous major operations, including the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and recent Middle Eastern conflicts. The squadron’s motto, “Fight Ugly,” reflects the squadron’s gritty and determined approach to their missions.
